Hello and welcome to Losing Me to Find Me. Let me introduce myself to you. I am Kenyetta Pope from Mobile, AL. This is my very first blog post. I started this blog as an accountability blog. I have had a really challenging time staying committed to things I do. Whether it be exercise, reading, praying and community activities. I decided that this year I would invite the entire world to help me be accountable.
I have a desire to lose some weight, grow my business, read some really good books and share my reviews with you. Share with you what new dishes I will be trying out. I also will be changing up my current exercise routine. I will definitely be sharing that part of my journey with you guys. Can’t wait to share the funny moments of cardio and strength training. Meditation is also on top of this list. Can’t wait to see how me actually stopping and being quiet will go.
One reason for this blog is to help me do healthy change in every area of my life. Spiritually, physically, emotionally and financially are the areas I am focusing on. I am concentrating on losing the negative images and thought patterns I have had of myself for at least the last 15 years. I’m in my 40th year and have things to unlearn, things to celebrate and experiences to enjoy. One of my goals is to do a 10K and a half marathon. So look for pictures of me running, sweating and praying as I complete these goals.
Thank you guys for being the most awesome and amazing cheering section I could ask for!!!!
This weekend I attended the Advocare Ladies Alive 2016 event in Nashville, TN. I had a great time and got a chance to hang out with an awesome group of ladies. I love being a part of a company that helps women grow into who they were designed to be. We are created to be world changers and our world starts with us!! We received some really great products at this event. The highlight of this event for me was the opportunity to pack toiletry bags for the homeless. There were 3,000 ladies at this event and we packed 6,000 bags to donate to a local charity.
I had the opportunity to around downtown Nashville and see the city. We ate at ACME a restaurant that served the best burgers and sweet potato fries. Had a chance on Friday evening to eat at Ted’s. The strawberry shortcake and Blue cheese bison burger were delicious. I will definitely be eating there again when I go back to Nashville.
I was in a group of 10 ladies and we stayed in a great house. Nothing like a group of women from all over meeting for the first time, and leaving as sisters at the end. I wouldn’t change this weekend for anything. Look forward to doing it again.

This past weekend I had the opportunity to work in the Lost Garden. The Lost Garden is located in downtown Mobile, AL on Dauphin St. This is a community garden that is supported by local merchants and community members. I am new to gardening, this was a lot of fun. We got a chance to create raised beds, I learned a lesson on composting. I now know not to throw away leftover fruits and veggies because it is compost!!!! I met a great group of people at this garden work day.
The kids who were there were having a blast when they were told they could squish bananas. they were really into throwing fruit and breaking open oranges. One of the goals of this garden is to help children know where food comes from. That is a wonderful lesson to know that food doesn’t just come from the grocery store.
We will also have a work day this weekend at another garden in the community. If I can learn to garden, anyone can do it. I even picked up an earthworm(with gloves on) you can too!!!
